Fall hunting season in the Couchiching area

Fall beech
This is a great time of year to get outdoors and enjoy nature in all its autumn spendour. It is also hunting season so care must be taken when venturing out.

Autumn is the perfect time of year to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.  The Couchiching Conservancy would like to remind everyone that the fall hunting season has arrived and care should always  be taken when out in the woods.

As part of their “Be Seen Be Safe” promotion, Simcoe County Trails has recently published an informative brochure outlining helpful tips that trail users should consider during hunting season:  Copies of the brochure are also available at the Conservancy headquarters at Grant’s Woods.

One of the tips in the brochures:

“Wear bright colours.  Wear bright orange (hat, vest, scarf, bandanna, helmet cover) instead of beige, brown, white, or black clothing.”

You should also be aware of the hunting seasons, dates, and locations in your area.
