on birch stump, fairly high and dry area

Another collection, found 2 days earlier, also submitted, was found in a wet area ( assoc with marsh marigolds )
and had a lovely fragrant and strong odour - called var. graveolens -microscopically similar.
Gills: adnate, mod close, thick, lamellulae. 91. dark grayish yellow.

clustered, some ( occ. ) confluent , some isolated; 11 specimens collected, about 10 remain on stump. Cap: Convex; 1.5
-2.5 cm diameter, and 1.5 cm high; Gelatinous feel to cap., but collected in dry weather and not really sticky. Irregularly
fluted, margin incurved. Veil remains on most specimens. It is whitish, and gives a whitish colour near apex of stipe just
below attachment of veil. Colour of cap: 86. light yellow.

2.5 cm high x 0.5 cm diameter, narrowing to base in wood where stipe disappears ( irregularly torn where cut out of
wood. Colour: 83. brilliant yellow, some whitish just below veil, some veil remnants which are 74. strong yellowish
brown, as is the base of stipe and flesh where cut.
