DESCRIPTION
on a rotten log, in mixed deciduous woods, predominantly poplar and maple.
HABITAT
The stump of this log had a good fruiting of Galerina autumnalis.

Gills: adnate, margins crenullate; lamellulae at lateral 1/4. 72. deep orange yellow , with some darker patches 75.
deep yellowish brown. Small specimens have veil intact.

up to 4 cm diameter, convex, enlarging to broadly convex, with a slight obtuse umbo in larger specimens. Smooth and
velvety (powdery), dry, with traces of scales at margins of larger specimens. Smaller specimens scaly overall, with veil.
Margins irregular. Medium and smaller specimens have remnants of veil hanging from margins.54.brownish orange, but
edges of larger specimens showing 82. very yellow, where scales have broken up. Cap - very dark red with KOH.

72. deep orange yellow, overall appearance, but some patches and fibrils 75. deep yellowish brown. Central, or
eccentric, (depending on how it is placed on the log ), up to 3 cm x 0.5 cm diameter, enlarging somewhat at base.
