The Spirit of Giving: Jessica and Matt Mason

In News by couchiching

Giving is a good feeling. Knowing you are making a difference in your area – even better.  Jessica and Matt are one couple who incorporated giving into their engagement and wedding.

As an Orillia girl, Jessica’s connection to nature runs deep. Spending time on the Severn River with family, attending outdoor music festivals and time in nature have been key to Jess’ life. For Matt, a love of birds has developed over time, with an interest in the earth, the stars and more. Matt and Jess were engaged in 2016, and a connection to nature had a big role in their engagement and wedding.

Fox&Mason-wedding giftThey had their engagement photos done in Grant’s Woods, along the snowy trails and trees with their dog Orwell. At their wedding, where they had an outdoor ceremony, they opted to give back to causes close to their hearts rather than give gifts to their guests. People got to add their “chip” to a bucket to pick the charity their gift would go towards. What a great idea!

“Being able to have our engagement photos taken in Orillia meant a lot to us, and it was amazing to have such a beautiful place to go. Visiting Orillia and exploring the outdoors has been a big part of our relationship from the start – we can’t wait to continue to visit Grant’s Woods and other Couchiching properties in the years to come!”

Thank you Jessica and Matt for your support to protect wild places like Grant’s Woods!
